Splendors and Glooms

We love playing with puppets, and watching puppet shows- but what if you were a puppet?

Master Puppeteer Grisini is an excellent expert at controlling and manipulating his puppets, that they appear to be alive. His two orphaned assistants are traveling a long distance to perform at the home of Clara Wintermute, as it is her birthday.

Suddenly, on the night of her birthday, Clara disappears.

Newbery Medal winning author Laura Amy Schlitz writes about loneliness and loyalty, frienship and fate. The story takes the reader through a heart pounding story about magic and the extraordinary.

When You Reach Me

Your notes keep coming. And I realise that I am the only that can prevent a tragic death.

Miranda and her best friend, Sal, go around their familiar New York Neighbour Hood. Boys fighting in the garage, the laughing man at the corner, his head under the mailbox, and their building.

Until one day, Sal gets punched by a boy named Marcus, and from that day on, Sal shuts Miranda out of his life. Miranda's mom's hidden emergency key is stolen. And finally, the first note appears - scribbled on a tiny and crumpled piece of paper:

I am coming to save your friend's life, and my own.
I ask two favours. First, you must write me a letter.

An engaging story full of mystery, time travel, forgiveness, and acceptance of others.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

What does loving somebody else feel like? What is love?

Edward Tulane is a toy china rabbit doll that has china arms, china legs, china body, and wears clothes made of silk. Many love him, especially a little girl named Abilene Tulane, who takes care of him with such care.

However, Edward doesn't love them back.

Edward goes on journey learning about loss, feelings, care, and what love is.

One of the most popular books for teens, Edward may have a pair of large ears, he may be arrogant in the start, but in the end, the most important thing of all is having a large heart.

Percy Jackson Collection

My Percy Jackson Collection! Woo hoo!
It took my sister and I lots of patience to make it complete!! :)

(I had to hold up the Son of Neptune because it was too big to fit in the shelf XD)

Percy Jackson and The Last Olympian

Prophecies tell the future. What about a prophecy that might save or destroy the world?

A half-blood of the eldest gods
Shall reach against all odds
And see the world in endless sleep,
The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap
A single choice shall end his days,
Olympus to preserve or raze.

The prophecy is true, and it is revealed. The decision's on Percy. It is time for Camp Half-Blood's biggest fight yet, against Kronos, the Lord of the Titans. And to make things even worse, Kronos has unleashed Typhon, the most fearsome of all monsters!

Percy Jackson and the other forty half-bloods must work together to make things right, even though it means that they may have to lose some of their loved ones.

But its okay - because whatever happens, they'll know at the end, that when one door closes, another opens.

A book full of love, adventure and trust.

Happy Chinese New Year!!

I am chinese, so Chinese New Year is a very important celebration for my family and I. Tomorrow, it will be the first day, where families and friends visit and meet each other. We will wear red clothes, buy each other gifts, such as candy, fruits, cookies for the relatives that we visit,  the elderly will give out "red packets" to the younger ones.

Finally, we say, "Gong Xi Fa Cai!", which means "Wishing you to be prosperous for the coming year!"

It truly is an EXCITING celebration!!! :)
