August or "Auggie" Pullman, is a boy who has a large heart and loves his family very much. However, he doesn't love his appearance.
Auggie Pullman has done lots of surgeries over the years, which helped make his appearance a bit more better. Sadly, everyone keeps looking, staring, and making fun of his face - which is no good.
August has been homeschooled for almost all of his first 9 years, until when he was ten, and it was finally time for him to go to school, and make new friends! Auggie feels very nervous, and shy, which is normal for any new student that attends a new school.
Auggie goes on a rocky journey to friendship and love, ups and downs, and he soon learns, that you have to believe in yourself, and that uniqueness is a great thing to be!
