Geronimo Stilton

Geronimo!!!!!!!!

Ah! Everyone knows Geronimo Stilton, and if you don't well I'm sure you will love it! Starting as one of the most famous children's series in the world, has gradually become an all age group recommended book! With lots of jokes, laughter, and beautiful and meaningful morals, everyone will surely enjoy this book series.

The series consists of four main characters, Geronimo Stilton, who is the clumsy editor of the ever famous Rodent's Gazette, and does not like outdoors as much as staying in his cosy mouse hole with a plate of hot cheese grilled sandwiches!
The second main character is Thea Stilton, who is Geronimo's younger sister. She is the complete opposite of mild-mannered Geronimo, always dragging his brother off to dangerous adventures, and going to extreme places, which are either really hot, or freezing cold, or somewhere that can give Geronimo a knock on the head.
The third one, however is the laziest of all- Trap, Geronimo's prankster and cousin. Trap always plays pranks on poor Geronimo, and loves eating! Always tricking Geronimo into tremendously funny pranks, makes a rocky relationship between the two, once in a while.
Finally the fourth one, is the sweetest, and of course the youngest. His name is Benjamin, who is the nine year old nephew of Geronimo. Geronimo loves him dearly, and so does Benjamin to Geronimo. However, Benjamin's biggest wish is to spend more time with his uncle, as he Geronimo is always busy.

All these memorable characters, however, love Geronimo for who he is - caring, kind, and daring at times! He brings us on a fa-mouse-ly funny journey around the world, and whisker licking good tales to keep our spirits up and high!

The Geronimo Stilton series sure are books that are worth reading!

Percy Jackson Fanfiction - Thalia Grace, Untold Stories :)

Hi guys, this is my first fanfiction I've ever wrote, so hope you like it! It is about Thalia Grace from the Percy Jackson Series.

Thalia Grace – Untold Stories #1

Thalia woke up to feeling the peaceful breeze brush against her cheek, which was scraped and wounded. Her rebellious, spiky black hair were swept to one side, her stormy blue eyes frantically searching for answers.
As she cleaned her clothes that was covered with soil, she then found out that her arms and legs were roots of a tree, her clothes and skin were made of bark. Before she could scream to death, the roots and bark were shrinking back to normal, roots becoming arms and legs, bark becoming clothes and skin.

First, she thought she was at Camp Half Blood, but she soon found out it was a big field with fresh green grass, a massive blue lake, the bright sun shining above her, and creatures were running around. The creatures, were most peculiar, half up being a human’s body, half down being –

“Wait, what? Satyrs!?” Thalia gasped with confusion.

She sat up, and quickly looked around for a satyr she knew, Grover. She called and called, but realized that goat boy wasn’t there. An old satyr heard her, looking surprised.

“Um, excuse me, miss, but how do you know my nephew Grover?” bleated the old satyr, his wrinkled eyes staring at her.

“Your nephew? Are you his Uncle?” questioned Thalia.

“Oh yes! Yes! I am Uncle Ferdinand, and I haven’t seen my poor nephew for years!” cried the satyr, “I’ve been trying to search for the great god Pan, smelling for his powerful aura of nature! But in the end, that horrible snake lady defeated me!”

“Well, I’m Thalia. Medusa? That cursed woman?” gaped Thalia, “Stupid gnome statue- obsessed lady!”

“Calm down, and before we go any further; what are you doing here? This beautiful haven is only for beings who did good in lives, and have reincarnated into being a part of nature, which is mostly satyrs.” inquired Uncle Ferdinand.

“Well, I do remember quite a bit…” answered Thalia. She told the satyr of how she met Annabeth Chase and Luke Castellan, and how Grover found them, trying to bring them to Camp Half Blood, to safety. They were chased by monsters from the underworld, when they were reaching camp, but after that, everything went black.

“My memory’s a bit blurry, but I do remember my legs and arms being roots, and my clothes and skin being bark of a tree. “,said Thalia, “I could show you the tree bark.”

“Alright, this feels like a detective’s job. This reminds me of going on adventures, in those good ol’ times when I had a searcher’s license…”muttered Uncle Ferdinand.
They jogged over to the place where she woke up, and they saw bits and pieces of tree bark there. Uncle Ferdinand examined the tree bark carefully, until he announced, “This is tree bark from a Pine Tree! How peculiar! We satyrs are usually reincarnated into something smaller, like a flower.”
“Me? A Pine Tree? How ridi-”, before Thalia could finish, she fainted, her eyes closing.
“Thalia? Thalia!” shouted Uncle Ferdinand, “Thalia!”

*****

“Ugh, not again! Why am I always blacking out?” mumble Thalia with frustration.

Her body was ghost like, transparent. Trying to keep her lightening-shock temper, she looked around, her surroundings were at night, and in front of here were two teenagers, a little girl, and a satyr.  The satyr had curly brown hair, and was wearing fake feet and legs. The little girl had messy blonde hair, had a dagger in her hand, and had startling grey eyes. The teenage boy had dirty blonde hair, angry eyes, and was holding the little girl’s hand. As for the other teenager, her hair was spiky black, and she had stormy blue eyes.

“Wait a minute – this is me with Luke, Annabeth and Grover! This is when we were trying to reach Camp Half Blood!” said Ghost Thalia, memories flooding back into her mind.

“Thalia, Annabeth, Luke! Run, quick!” shouted Grover, “Were nearly there!”

“Wait, that stupid cyclops coming at us, “groaned Luke.
The Cyclops grabbed Luke, Thalia and Grover, waving them in the air, trying to get the monsters attention.

“Let me do this,” muttered Annabeth, her grey eyes analyzing the best way to stop the Cyclops. She raised her dagger, and stabbed the Cyclops in the foot.

The cyclops collapsed, and the hoard of monsters chased after them. All of a sudden, before Annabeth, Luke, and Grover could get injured, Thalia jumped between the monsters and sacrificed her life to save her friends. Finally, she saw herself turn into a Pine Tree, by Zeus’ powers.

“So, I died,” said Ghost Thalia, shocked, “I sacrificed myself and turned into a Pine Tree.”

She woke up in the satyr haven, but before she could tell Uncle Ferdinand about what happened in her flashback, her whole body was glowing with gold, bright lights. The wind pushed her into the air and blew her through the sky, until she saw the Pine Tree she dreamed of in her flashback. But instead, it had a golden cloth hung on it, that was giving out the same bright colours that her body was glowing. She slowly sank into the Pine Tree.

A few hours later, she found herself on the ground, waking up to a crowd of campers wearing orange shirts, with the words Camp Half Blood on them. A boy with sea green eyes was staring at her.

“Who-” Thalia asked the boy in bewilderment.

“I’m Percy,” the boy said, “You’re safe now.”

“Strangest dream….” Thalia coughed, nearly choking.

“It’s okay.” said Percy.

“Dying.” Thalia gasped.

“No,” Percy assured her, “You’re okay. What’s your name?”

Thalia closed her eyes for a while. Her heart beating, trying to cool down. I’m alive. I came back from the dead. I’m alive.

Thalia took a deep breath and said, “I am Thalia,” the electric blue eyed girl said, “Daughter of Zeus.”

Story Starters :D

Don't know how to start you story? Don't know what line would just immediately bring your readers to a world full of wonder and creativity? Well, here are 5 Story Starters to get you movin'!

  1. My clothes were burnt, and my hair were standing straight up, as if Zeus has electrocuted my hair with his massive Lightning Bolt - I wouldn't call today a "Bad Hair Day", if you knew how I looked.
  2. A strange thing happened - as if gravity was loosing control. I felt myself hovering in the air, just a millimeter above the ground. My breakfast milk was floating, it's tiny particles wandering around. I quickly pushed myself to the window, and saw the most amazing view - stars. Millions of them. I was in Space.
  3. Curious Isabelle heard the most beautiful sound a bird could sing. Curious Isabelle heard the sound of an eagle's wings soaring through the sky. Curious Isabelle, wished she could flutter into the air, and enjoy the cool breeze. And for once, curiosity killed the cat.
  4. "It's time for school, dear!" exclaimed my mum. "Okay!" I replied, cheerfully, mustering a smile. However, deep down, my heart was racing, racing away from a gang of hateful smiles, mean tricks, and violent words that cut scars on your face. I was racing away from bullies.
  5. "Ahhh!" screamed my little sister, Emma, who was running towards me. The thunder and lightning flashed through the sky, and rain danced on the roof of my dusty house. I cuddled her, as if I were Mama Bear, and together we waited for the storm to end.
Hope you find these Story Starters useful, and more importantly, inspiring! These starters are quite mysterious aren't they :)

Quote of the Day :)

A reader lives a thousand lives, before he dies. - George R.R. Martin.

Wizard of Oz

The house twirled and twirled and twirled, until it landed on the most joyful and most colourful land she has ever seen - The Land of Oz.

Dorothy Gale lives in Kansas, with her Aunt Em, and Uncle Henry. In Kansas, there were no smiles to be seen, and no colours - the whole place was just black and white. The gloominess of the city has bored in to Aunt Em and Uncle Henry, and has drained all the rosy cheeks, and light in their eyes, that they used to have.

On the other hand, Dorothy has eyes of wonder, and without her dog Toto, she would have been in the same boat with her Aunt and Uncle.
All of a sudden, there was a cyclone! Cyclones usually happened in Kansas - but this one was a rather strong one! Dorothy and Toto, trying to get to safety with her Aunt and Uncle, found themselves twirling and twirling, up into the air! The whole house was twirling!

With a big 'poof!' on the ground, the little girl and Toto soon discovered that they were on the most joyful, most colourful, and the most happiest land she has ever seen, and been on - The Land of Oz.

And so Dorothy and Toto's adventures begin, all because of a cyclone.

Enjoy one of the most famous stories ever told, the Wizard of Oz, and join Dorothy and her dog, Toto, and meet unusual, but lifelong friends, on a thrilling journey into Oz!

It will sure bring you over the rainbow....

Quote of the Day :)

Be kind, and have courage. - Cinderella.

Why you should read Percy Jackson

The Percy Jackson Series, and the Heroes of Olympus is loved by millions and millions of fans, which eventually creates a fandom! You may think Percy Jackson is for little kids, it messes up fans' minds, and it does not teach them anything worthy. You may think this because the titles of the books are the covers are too childish and colourful for you.

Well, I have to say that the Percy Jackson series and the Heroes of Olympus, have lots to teach you, lots to teach about - Mythology, History and Religion, all packed up adventurously in two book series.

The Percy Jackson Series talks about a young teenager named Percy Jackson, and lives with his mother, and disgusting stepfather, in a flat in Manhattan. Percy's father has gone missing, or they think he is. He is suddenly brought to a Greek Camp named Camp Half Blood, and finds out that he is more than he thinks he is. And so his story begins.

His story continues to the Heroes of Olympus Series, where Percy goes missing. He encounters the Greeks greatest enemy - the Romans. However, there is a catch. Something terrible, is awakening in the ground. And to make things even worse, Percy loses his memory, and finds himself running straight into a new camp, that has strange rules, and all the campers there have peculiar tattoos with the letters: SPQR.

Meeting new friends, and along the way, new challenges. A mind dazzling, heart pounding and one of a kind, book series, that brings the world of mysteries, and mythology to life. Which is obviously why this book series creates a tremendously huge Fandom! Rick Riordan has inspired many to learn more about history, a subject that many find boring.

I recommend this book series for readers who are interested in Adventure and Mythology, and ones who find the history subject boring and tiresome. Enjoy your read!

Warning: Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson Series and Heroes of Olympus have annoying, terrible, and shocking cliff hangers which makes the books terribly wonderful!

Author Visit - Marcus Alexander :)

Today in school, Author Marcus Alexander came to visit. He then gave us an hour long introduction of his book series, The Keeper of the Realms.

During his presentation, he used a thunderous and loud voice, and explained how he traveled around the world, mostly in Asia, and explored cultural and traditional aspects of the place. He tried out lots of different food, and even he tried eating everyone's favourite animal - a dog! He also tried unique sports, throughout Thailand, Vietnam, and China. It involved lots of kicking and flexibility in it.

He soon got inspired by all these traditions, that he finally created his book series, Keeper of the Realms. Its protagonist, Charlie Keeper lives in a very unusual and unique home, set in the ever busy city of London.... and so her story begins!

Lots of my classmates were so excited about this, and Marcus Alexander sold his books - $100 HK for one book in the series, and $250 HK for the whole series! It was very exciting!!

Now, almost all of my year group, which is, 11 to 12, loves Alexander's books. His books are magical and filled with so many original ideas that he has collected worldwide, that itliterally explodes the reader's mind with imagination and creativity!

Therefore, I highly recommend that you read at least the first book of the Series - Crow's Revenge. For boys and girls, ages 11 and up, who are interested in Sci-Fi or Adventure genres will enjoy this book tremendously. So quickly borrow it from a public library near you, or go to a bookstore, because you have lots of places and realms to explore!

Quote of the Day :)

Quote of the Day

Respect others for who they are. If you don't like someone else because of his or her looks, well, zip it. They didn't choose to be like that. But they can choose who they want to be in the inside. So they might be caring and gentle, not mean and cruel.

So stop criticizing, and start respecting.

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard :)

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard is like a jigsaw puzzle.....

Do you guys know about the upcoming book of Rick Riordan, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard? Well, I think some of you know about this, but in the Percy Jackson series, Annabeth says that she has a cousin and uncle in Boston.... and Magnus Chase apparently lives in Boston.

So the main character of the next book could be about Annabeth's cousin. It also says that Annabeth's uncle and dad don't get along, which means if Annabeth ever appears in the story, she won't get a warm welcome....

So what do you think about this?

Quote of the Day :)

Dream your dreams.....

A Wrinkle in Time

It was a dark and stormy night...

This story begins with 3 heroes...

Thirtreen year old Meg Murry is a very "awkward", unpopular and defensive girl. She thinks she is a very unattractive girl, with mouse brown hair, braces and glasses, and thinks of herself a monster compared to her mother.

Her brother,Charles Wallace,a five year old child prodigy genius, is known by others as a foolish and mute boy, as he has never spoken until he was four. He is very knowledgeable, but also very vulnerable. At times, he can read his sister's mind.

Finally, Calvin O'Keefe, whose mother is a cranky and tired old woman, having too many children. Neglected by his own family, he happily enters the Murry family.

And together, they try to find Meg and Charles Wallace's father, who has disappeared without reason. With the help of Mrs. Who, Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Whatsit, they wrinkle through time, and travel to extraordinary places they have never been to, and encounter villains that they will fear, and friends they will never forget.

And it all began on a dark and stromy night.

Meg learns that you have to believe in yourself, and that sometimes she has to be patient with others. She also learns that a lot of people care about her, no matter how she looks like.5
