The Secret Garden - Frances Hodgson Burnett

Enter the Secret Garden....

Mary Lennox is a selfish, unloved and lonely young girl who was born in India. Her parents never cared about her, always wrapping themselves into their matters, rather than hers. Being spoiled and sickly, is brought up by servants, who try hard to keep her away from her parents. Suddenly, a Cholera Epidemic hits India, causing her parents and servants to get infected and pass away.

When she is discovered to be alone, but alive in the house, she is sent away to Yorkshire, England, to stay in Archibald Craven's, her uncle's gloomy mansion. She meets a good natured, and friendly servant, a gardener, and a kind Robin Redbreast. Enjoying their company, the servant tells her a story about Mrs Craven, the owner of the large house, about a secret garden, its key hidden away underground.

Mary grows more and more curious about the garden, until she finds the key, and opens the door.
The Secret Garden, a Puffin Classic, reveals a world that you could have ever imagined.
